Charmed

Visitors are charmed, mystified and fascinated by the famous Nabatean
red-rose city of Petra; Greco-Roman temples and cities; Crusader and Umayyad
castles; the spectacular Wadi Rum desert made famous by Lawrence of Arabia;
countless biblical sites identified with Moses, Elijah, John the Baptist and
Jesus Christ; the Red Sea and the Dead Sea.
This ancient culture belies the fact that it is also a modern country with a
good infrastructure, a thriving business and arts scene, first class hotels,
restaurants, and shopping opportunities. The contradictions between the old and
new are astonishing.
